Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located at Shilama, Bangda Township, Jintang District, Kangding County, Sichuan. It was named by the No. 2 Regional Geological Survey Party of Sichuan Bureau of Geology in 1976.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. Gray and light-gray moderately thick- to thick-bedded clayey bioclastic limestone, crystalline limestone and brecciated clastic limestone, occasionally intercalated with black shale. Total thickness 124.2 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Conformably over the Luanshijiao Fm

Upper contact

Disconformable contact under the Lower Permian Dongdahe Fm

Regional extent

Mainly distributed in the Jintang arcuate structure and areas such as Dayutongliangzi, Kongyu, Yeniugou and Changshiwo of Kangding County on the western side of the Sichuan-Yunnan uplift.

Fossils

Dominated by Fusulinids Pseudofusulina sp., Triticites parvulus, T. kuanshanensis, Hemifusulina ordinata var. cheni, and corals, crinoid stems, etc.
